CBD stands for Cannabidiol which is a naturally occurring compound found in the flower and other parts of the hemp plant (a member of the Cannabis Sativa family). CBD has been used in the past as medicine going back hundreds and even thousands of years as it provides therapeutic benefits. CBD is derived from hemp plants and works to regulate our own endocannabinoid system which is responsible for stress and anxiety, memory, sleep, pain and inflammation. CBD has no psycho-active effect (it will NOT get you high) and non-addictive. It works to aid and maintain our internal balance.
Since our endocannabinoid system is responsible for our mood, our energy; how we experience pain stress and more, a malfunctioning system can cause serious symptoms. CBD works to modulate and assist our endocannabinoid system and give us the added boost we need to regulate our systems. CBD is used to reduce stress, decrease anxiety while the anti-inflammatory benefits can help us manage aches and pains.
Not with our products. Marijuana plants generally come from the Cannabis Indica family but can also come from the Cannabis Sativa family as well. When you have marijuana and hemp derived from the Cannabis Sativa family, they will have some similarities but since their biology is very different, their chemical composition is also very different. Cannabis plants contain a variety of compounds including the CBD we mentioned and THC which stands for Tetrahydrocannabinol. It is this THC in marijuana which induces psychoactive effects while CBD does not contain any psychoactive properties.
Hemp plants contain trace amounts of THC and the legal amount allowed for THC is 0.3% or less. Our products are thoroughly tested to be THC free so you can use our product with confidence.
Very large amounts of hemp are required to extract a small amount of CBD. Some will cut corners by using CBD from China or Eastern Europe while quality control is low. Hemp plants are notorious for absorbing heavy metals from the soil. After the Chernobyl accident, hemp plants were planted due to their ability to soak up heavy metals such as chromium, lead, copper and other harmful products in a process called phytoremediation. In Puglia, Italy, industrial hemp plant was used to help decontaminate some of Europe’s most polluted soils.
It absolutely matters where the hemp plant comes from and we have searched long and far to find our sources in the mountain valleys of Oregon. Our hemp plants are organically grown, one crop a year, in the most natural way possible.

CBD isolate (also referred to as “pure CBD”) utilizes an intensive extraction process and removes all the plant material resulting in a clear white powder. Isolates are an highly processed end product and while the makers of isolate imply you are getting more of what you want, the science seems to suggest the opposite.
The Lautenberg Center for General Tumor Immunology in Jerusalem performed a study that compared full spectrum CBD and CBD isolate. They found that the full spectrum CBD provided a higher level of relief. In addition to the full spectrum CBD, we have carefully selected the other oils and ingredients in our products to maximize your benefit.

Everyone is different and some will notice the benefits immediately while others may take days or weeks to build the CBD into their systems. Our recommendation is to start with a low dose (sublingially, 10mL) and slowly increase the number until you dial into your best self. Please check with your medical provider and do not use if you are pregnant or nursing.
We at Verima are first and foremost a health and wellness company. We believe in natural healing and our product are derived from natural sources that have the best of what mother nature has to offer to include natural oils. We use coconut oil in our tinctures which is a MCT and thus considered a super fuel since our bodies. Unlike LCT (long), MCT oil is shorter in length and easily digested with many associated health benefits in how our bodies process these fasts. MCT oil is considered a super fuel since our bodies absorb MCTs more rapidly than LCTs which have more carbons in their fatty acid chains. When MCT is paired with CBD, we think it has combined additional benefits on metabolism with the added benefit of reducing lactatic acid build-up when you exercise.
The 2018 US Farm Bill which was passed in December 2018 allows US farmers to grow industrial hemp legally on a broad scale. The bill also explicitly allows the transfer of hemp-derived products across state lines for commercial or other purposes. Additionally, it puts no restriction on the sale, transport or possession of hemp-derived products. The restriction is that the hemp cannot contain more than 0.3% THC (section 10113 of the Farm Bill). So, all of our products at Verima are legal in all 50 states.
We genuinely care about the environment and despite it costing 10 times more, we decided from the start to use glass and not plastic containers. The facts are overwhelming and frightening when it comes to plastic. Some studies show what we are now producing approximately 300million of plastic every year, half of which is for single use. To make it worse more than 8 million tons of plastic is dumped into our oceans every year.
Companies use plastic because it’s cheap but we don’t want to be part of this disposable way of living. Some estimates show that 50% of plastic is used just once and thrown away. We prefer glass and we encourage you to recycle as much as you can.
Should I use a lotion or salve?
